Food and Dining

Food and Dining

We have two restaurants at Strathcona.  The Whale Room offers family-style meals at set times served at a buffet table, and is open April-November.  “Myrna’s” has menu service and is open in the summer.  Both are open to Strathcona guests and drive-by diners.  The food theme is similar in both: fresh, healthy, energy rich and local.

All meals at Strathcona Park Lodge are nutritious, healthy, balanced and delicious. There are always options for allergy or dietary needs. Talented chefs . create buffet-style and a la carte meals.

Strathcona Park Lodge works closely with local fishers and farmers to source as much food as possible from as close to the lodge as practical. Some farmers even consult with Strathcona Park Lodge in the spring to plan their crops to best meet the needs of Strathcona.

It’s a unique, symbiotic relationship that ensures Strathcona eats the best veggies, fruit, fish and meat we can find. With these ingredients the kitchen team craft simple, delicious and approachable meals made with a genuine desire to enrich.

Myrna's Restaurant

Myrna’s Restaurant

Serving lunch and dinner

Myrna Boulding’s interest in food, health and nutrition dates back to her days as a home economics teacher in Campbell River. As the lodge founder she brought this focus on food and health to the menu of the Whale Room and to her namesake, Myrna’s, an à la carte, menu service restaurant. Everything on this seasonal menu is healthy, nutritious and sourced locally as much as possible.

Myrna’s is a quieter and more intimate restaurant than the Whale Room with an equally excellent tableside view. The menu service is inspired by local fresh foods.

Myrna’s Restaurant is open for the months of July and August.
