Food Philosophy

In both restaurants our Head Chef  creates meals that share the same principles as Strathcona Park Lodge’s core philosophy. Meals are nutritious, healthy, delicious and often include something new or different. The Head Chef works closely with local fishermen and farmers to source as much food as possible from as close to the Lodge as practical. Some farmers even consult our Chef in the spring to plan their crops to best meet the needs of Strathcona.

It’s a unique, symbiotic relationship that ensures Strathcona eats the best veggies, fruit, fish and meat available. With these ingredients the kitchen team craft simple, delicious and approachable meals made with a genuine desire to enrich.

Allergies and dietary needs

For both fine dining and school program menus our Head Chef is attuned to specific diets and allergies. There are always options for gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free and vegetarian.
