Strathcona Park Lodge’s core business is creating customized outdoor education programs for groups at our Vancouver Island base. From half day to multi-day programs for groups of two to 200, we have the expertise, infrastructure and staff to accommodate just about any group.

Mount Myra Summit

Every year thousands of school aged kids come to learn in our outdoor classroom. Our active, adventure packed programs foster a positive learning and bonding experience that any kid, classroom or group can benefit from. We offer three main types of programs for youth focused outdoor education: summer camps, school programs, and other youth groups. Choose from the descriptions below to find out more.

WYLD Summer Camps

One to two week long adventure summer camps on Vancouver Island, Canada, where youths get a chance to go hiking, sea kayaking, canoeing, climbing, camping and exploring whilst making new friends.

Schools and Large Groups

Our interactive learning experiences challenge, inspire and enlighten students in a positive and exciting environment. Bonds are formed, minds are opened and the programs complement school curriculum. In order to better prepare people for the Strathcona Park Lodge experience we have created a teacher/chaperone specific page and if your a student coming to hang out at SPL head on over to a page just for you.

Youth Groups

Hands on learning experiences in an outdoor classroom for all kinds of youth groups: ESL programs, incentive, community groups, clubs, scouts, tour operators, sports teams and more.

If you have picked a course and are ready to apply, please download the registration form along with a letter from WYLD Expeditions. Registration is accepted on a first come first serve basis. Completed registration forms can be emailed, mailed or faxed.

Student Reflections

"Our leaders got us to play a few quick games that first day, and over the course of the next five days we learned many more, like the "human knot" and others. Each game was fun, but it was more than that. Each game taught us who we are or where we stand or how we deal with tricky situations in terms of leadership. With each game I gained more confidence to speak out, which is something I can hopefully continue improving over the course of my life. That's what the annual grade 8 and 9 trip to strathcona is about. Learning about who you are without technology and becoming a leader."
